I think some of these cheaper surround sound speaker sets are merely surround *effect*. Therefore if you watch a DVD you will not hear the actual Dolby Digital 5.1 surround soundtrack, but something upmixed from a stereo down-mix of the DVD. Just a note of caution so you don't expect the world out of such a system but when it's free you can't complain and it would be great for a bedroom

At least with this one the qualifying spend might mean there is more chance of getting it. I needed some more ink cartridges for my printer anyway so this just helped me decide where to order them from.

Ditto the post below. I needed some ink cartridges and this was just the incentive I needed to buy from Staples. I ordered the cartridges and the free surround sound system last night at 6.30pm (before I saw this post), it was on the van at 9.05pm and arrived with me this morning at about 11.30pm from the harassed looking Lynx driver.

Easy set up, attached iPod and have been disturbing neighbours ever since. Have been putting it through its paces with some bassy tunes etc and it is not bad at all - to say the least. Only bummer is that it needs a plug socket. Shame the sub woofer doesn't operate with batteries as I've already made a killing in Superdrug!:D
