Ah well, if anyone is watching or interested, managed to clear the two loans in the last two weeks, an outlay of £4300 but it was well worth it as I can now free up £587 per month to go to the credit cards on top of what I was already paying. For the next few months I'll be driving my scrapper of a car, paying £900 a month off my debt then saving like crazy for the family holiday of a lifetime in Disney!! Won't be till next Christmas but I'll definitely take them away.
Keep on trucking folks!!CC Debt October[STRIKE]£9000[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£7000 [/STRIKE]all finally on 0% Digging at the same pile but this month I've got a bigger shovel

Hi Dusty,
It is inspiring - glad you are sticking to it and have something to aim for.
Keep it up!!0 -
While I'm quite certain nobody is waiting for the next installment, maybe a fresh set of eyes will see this and be reminded it can be done.
To summarise,
2 years ago approx £22K in debt
Last year down to £12k but struggled on low wages and all that jazz.
This months wages and payments will bring me down to around £8K on credit card debt although all on 0%, hoping to shift it all on to one card to make the payments more transparent. Feels good to be in single figures (we'll not mention it's single figure thousands
) I know I'm still in more debt than a lot of people but i'm still in less than others.
Compared to two years ago with 4 cards, all maxed out, one personal loan, one business loan and facing redundancy, forced into low wages for well over 18 months things have properly turned around and i can now afford to make REAL payments and even an occasional treat, I bought Disney on Ice tickets for the family and we're all looking forward to that!!
Still averaging payments of £900 a month though SWMBO is now finished with her maternity pay so we'll have a bit less money incoming which I'll have to work around but still well on track.
Thought I would be DF this year but with setbacks at the start of the year I've had to delay the date. Ah well, thats life, i'm still getting on with it
Hope this gives you a perk up if you're having a bad day!!CC Debt October[STRIKE]£9000[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£7000 [/STRIKE]all finally on 0% Digging at the same pile but this month I've got a bigger shovel

Slight update,
Now sitting with £9k on cards, waiting until payday to make my next installment which should be £2.5k or so. Had a few issues which required helping family members out financially and the wife's car needing ball joints and 2 new tyres, necessary evils I'm afraid
Ah well, still on course and better off than I ever was, aiming for a debt free date of April 2012 which i think is very achievable then a holiday is on the cards. Paid up front of course!!!CC Debt October[STRIKE]£9000[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£7000 [/STRIKE]all finally on 0% Digging at the same pile but this month I've got a bigger shovel

So, down to £7000 now, still some more money to pay off this month, but things will slow down now as Mrs Dusty is finishing up her maternity pay and wants to take a career break to be with the kids.
Still hoping to be cleared up by April or May at the latest, then on holidays we shall go!!!CC Debt October[STRIKE]£9000[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£7000 [/STRIKE]all finally on 0% Digging at the same pile but this month I've got a bigger shovel

Chuffed to bits for you - well done

Sounds like you had a few setbacks along the way, but knuckled down and got rid.
