New Mortgages coming To Market?

Hi all,

I'm a FTB - £75k deposit and combined income of £50k, looking to buy under stamp duty in the South East.

I've been researching mortgages - and have decided that Brittania's Capped Tracker at 2.49% above base, 5.99% cap for 5 years suits best.

This seems to be a relatively new product - and offers a good tracker rate and the security of a fix over a reasonable time period. The small print is good, no early exit fees and 10% over pay permitted without charge.

I popped into my bank over the weekend (HSBC) and had a chat to see if they could compete. They said that they're releasing a new product to market next week - they wouldn't give any figures but it's basically a Tracker / Fixed mix mortgage. The advisor suggested that a minimum of 25% could be fixed with the remainder on a Tracker.

Does anyone have more details of this mortgage at this early stage?

Are there any other mortages similar to the Co-op / Brittania Capped Tracker deal coming to market soon?
