Does anyone else ever feel that when you work hard, abide by the law and do the best that you physically and mentally can that this world is not being fair in return?
My ex-husband is declaring poverty to the CSA when it comes to paying for his only daughter. The CSA states that he does not have to pay a penny yet since last christmas he has bought a moto croxx bike, a horse and stable and £9000 of double glazing!
I have always told the Inland Revenue about any change in circumstances that I have had. Yet still we owe them nearly £5000 from being overpaid?
The bank lent us £40000 in unsecured loans for our business and now the business has failed they want it back via a managed loan that just heaos interest on day after day.
My husband and I have always worked hard, paid our taxes, kept to the law etc.
As our home came with our job at the pub we are now homeless and have £78000 of debt. We have both found full-time emploment, arranged opayment plans with our creditors and are working really hard to pay off the debt.
We have 3 beautiful children under the age of 6. We approached the council to house us. (Not an option I wanted to consider as we have always supported ourselves and paid our own way but so many people told us that this is what the system is there for - not for the people who cheat the system) They told us that they could not process our application as my husband had ONCE BEEN a homeowner. Now what?
If anybody has any advice we would be really grateful.

I don't really have any advice, but I do agree with you - it's always those that deal in sh*t that seem to come up smelling of roses, and those of us that are honest, law-abiding and hard working have to struggle all our lives.
The only thing I try and keep thinking is exactly that though - I am honest, law-abiding and hard working, and I have the moral high ground over those that are trying to rip me off (car crash woman and manky long lost absent father of my daughter).
It doesn't help pay the bills I know, but at least you can sleep at night in the knowledge that you are a better person.
Good luck to you
My sig's too large, apparently - so apologies to whoever's space I was taking up.:lipsrseal0 -
Thank you so much. You are right. My mum always tells me that it is more important to sleep at night with a clear conscience knowing that you are the better person!March 2006 Total Debt is £86,724.24
