Another WW2 book which I've enjoyed-although it's not a cookery book is Nella Last's War.

Nella Last was a housewife in Barrow in Furness during the war and she kept a diary for the Mass-Observation project. She describes the meals she made for her family, how she made blankets etc for the local hospital and her work in a canteen for the troops.

It's well worth reading if you come across a copy.
