Advice please - what should I do

CSA notified me of how much my ex should be paying for our daughter.

The ex has sent some forms (I dont know which ones) back to the CSA. He has moaned that these were "very invasive" and he "felt like telling them to stick it"!

Anyway, he has now presented me with a cheque for the weeks from when I went to the CSA and to the end of this month based on the CSAs figures. He has also admitted the forms he completed have been sent back from the CSA as they were incorrectly completed.

What are my options and what are the consequences. I am more than happy to let him pay me direct but concerned that he has let me down recently with the payments which is the reason I went to the CSA.

Will the CSA continue to pursue him for the forms to be properly completed and returned.

What questions were so "invasive" on the forms? (he is a bit of a drama llama so I am thinking they were questions like "whats your name"!)

Thank you in advance.

It would've likely have asked him for alot of personal details, close family relatives addresses maybe - so if he 'moved' and was unlocatable, they have some resources to start trying to trace his whereabouts.

Now that you've got it with CSA, can't you keep it with them, but go with him paying you direct? It seems a little less invasive once you've registered with them, but you have them there for backup if he should decide to throw wobblies on paying you again in the future.
  • All you need to do is advise the csa by phone and in writing that your ex has paid you ' X ' amount and i would suggest that you stick with the csa as if he stops paying you, then you would have to start the whole procedure again.(as you dont really trust him to pay you regularly)
  • If he tells them to "stick it" "shove it where the sun don't shine" etc that's potentially to your benefit as he may end up with a higher assessment.

For the moment i would :-

Keep a note book and note the dates and amounts paid and if possible cheque numbers and sort codes. this may solve issues later when he claims to have paid you X.
File your bank statements showing the cheques going in carefully.

remember there are 4.33 weeks in a month

(if the assessment is £45 a week he should pay £195 a month )

some NRP's will try to beat PWC down to accept a lower than CSA amount based on their calculation.

    the new rules are easy
15% of net income for 1 child
20% of net income for 2 children
25% of net income for 3 or more children
no allowance for travel, housing etc etc but a 1/7 reduction for every complete 52 nights the NRP has the kids per year
 I've paid the CSA off and stopped them taking payments:beer:
I'm stillowed some arrears by my ex

I was a NRP, now I'm a PWC, partner of a PWC, and parent of a PWC ( and very confused at times )
