    Updating list.

Tuesday ~ Master bedroom and landing!
    Level One

    Declutter the floor!!
    Level Two
    Vacuum floors!
    Level Three
Wash any nets/curtains that are in need!

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

  • Just popping in to say Happy Birthday, LameWolf

Sorry I haven't been around the last two days. I'm trying to keep everything clean by doing a S&S, but I'm mainly working in the garden trying to catch up with the jobs that should have been done in March!

Tomorrow I'll give the kitchen a good clean-up, though; and I'm keeping everything tidy, which is half the battle.

And this is the last week of stars, too.... comforting.gif

What am I going to do to get myself cleaning once they have gone????!!!!!! (I'm bad enough now! :o)

Can't keep up with the thread so Congratulations, HSbow126420.gif, HSblinky_ani_bearhugs.gif and HS1Welcomepng1.png where appropriate.

Fair bit done today. Have done sitting room and hall apart from hoovering and cleaned piggies cages, even dusted all the bars. Now need to sit down and refuel and then go and tidy the mess I left behind in piggies room and get the kitchen sorted. Haven't checked if tomorrow's list is available. Please please let it be kitchen.

I made all kinds of attempts to clean radiators but I have to admit defeat. I did get some out but there is still plenty dust left. And yes - I did check the tip thread about how to go about it. :rotfl:

cant see me getting anything much done tonight as the BD has descended on OH and he is in a very low mood, have just come back from dropped DD at a friends house where she has taken refuge, we had a frank discussion in the car and a bit of a blub about the whole BD situation, off to do some work but need to be quiet so no flying just work

    Hi all,
I would be grateful for some advice.

I started a 2 year course in September. Each year is paid for at the beginning of the year. I have enjoyed it but have found that it is a considerable amount of work. I have also found out that the next 'stage' will cost so much more than i can afford and will never lead to the job i was doing it for.
I have 'put the time in'( i am a working mum) but am faced with exams in 2 weeks and nothing is sticking. I feel this is more than exam nerves and realistically, cant see myself passing more than 1/2 ( which would then lead to retakes and then not being able to continue with the 2nd year anyway)

I dont give up on stuff but sometimes that just means stuff goes on longer than it should have!!

I am thinking i should acknowledge i have enjoyed the last year but accept that i have tried to go too far,

    Cheers
    H xxx

I am in two minds for you really - on the one hand I kind of agree with what others have said about seeing it through and the satisfaction of completing the year for yourself and your cv. I do disagree with what others have said about setting an example for your children though (please don't be offended anyone who suggested that) but I do think there is also a place for teaching children that actually there are times in life when we can say I have tried and I've decided this is not the right thing for me (though preferably not when I'm teaching them:eek:) Making a decision is sometimes the hardest thing to do and having the courage of our convictions is also a good lesson for our children to learn.

I have been in a similar-ish situation with a masters I was doing. I had done all the credits and was trying to start the dissertation when the more I thought about it the more 'whale-like' it became on my shoulders and I felt physically and mentally bowed down under the pressure. I decided to stop at that point and tbh the relief was enormous and made me realise that it was definitely not the right thing for me to carry on at that point.

I am definitely one for writing down all the pro's and cons of continuing/not continuing then seeing which way your head and heart really lie - Probably you have already internally made the decision and whichever way you do decide it has to be for you.

Okay a list update is required I think.

Monday - Sitting Room and Hallway
    Level One
    Vacuum floors and sofas!
    Level Two
Vacuum under any furniture you can.. please don't injure yourselves!
Sort out coats, shoes and bags
    Level Three
HHC in the hallway.. vacuum floors/stairs, wipe paintwork, fling those broken umbrellas and junk mail!

Tuesday ~ Master bedroom and landing!
    Level One
    Declutter the floor!!
Strip bedding, wash and replace.. air the duvet while it is naked!
    Level Two
Tidy up a chest of drawers.. fling anything that is unloved.
    Vacuum floors!
Clear a box of stuff.. put it in its proper homes or get rid!
    Level Three
Empty bins and do a mad 5 minutes filling the binbag!
Polish any mirrors or glass.. inc. dirty windows!

Still loads to do - I'm very tempted to put the hoover on but I don't want to wake the kids so I don't think I'll risk it. Most of what is left on Monday's list is hoovering so I'll do that either in the morning or tomorrow when I get in from work.

I think I'll do another HHC in either the kitchen or the bedroom now.

How can she be thanked in 1001 posts with a post count of 999 - confused

Because when posts are deleted (for instance, when quoting spam and asking for a BG to remove it) the post count is reduced, but not the thanks (and the post count of number of posts that have been thanked) Does that make sense?

We've cleaned up the kitchen, and the rest of the rooms are looking pretty good :j

See you all later, Penny. x
