Hi all,
I would be grateful for some advice.
I started a 2 year course in September. Each year is paid for at the beginning of the year. I have enjoyed it but have found that it is a considerable amount of work. I have also found out that the next 'stage' will cost so much more than i can afford and will never lead to the job i was doing it for.
I have 'put the time in'( i am a working mum) but am faced with exams in 2 weeks and nothing is sticking. I feel this is more than exam nerves and realistically, cant see myself passing more than 1/2 ( which would then lead to retakes and then not being able to continue with the 2nd year anyway)
I dont give up on stuff but sometimes that just means stuff goes on longer than it should have!!
I am thinking i should acknowledge i have enjoyed the last year but accept that i have tried to go too far,
Cheers

hi
here's my advice (FWIW!). Do the exams. You say you've put it the work, so go for it - don't give up (bad example for the kids etc). It sounds to me like you do have the jitters and they are all tangled up with frustration that the course won't help you do the job you wanted in any case. Then I'd have a really good think about whether to do next year. It sounds like you've already decided to not do the 2nd year, and although I don't know all of your circumstances, if it won't get you the job you want, and its going to cost more money than you can afford, then I think not doing the 2nd year is probably a good idea. BUT you must finish this year - for your personal sense of satisfaction, for the example it will set your kids, for not wasting the money you have already paid out, and for it looking better on your CV.

Mummyyof5sounds like Menière's disease or vertigo to me, must be awful and you should get it checked out:)
My friend has Meniere's disease and your symptoms describe her very well. I hope you don't have it as it's debilitating. Definitely get that dr. appt.
*H* - Onestep has given you good advice, I can't really add to it other than telling you to just do your best.
toochoosey - What was so terrible about your foot in mouth episode outside school???
Can't find DS3's swimming trunks, I think they are buried somewhere in the ironing pile. Yes despite ironing for 2 hours today it's still quite a mountain. LO's and DH's ironing put away.
I decluttered 3 boxes of gibble out of the LO's room so feel quite pleased with myself. It is now sitting in the skip outside. (Mental note to self to nag DH to get rid of it). Sadly I haven't actually made any more space as all the junk DS3 got for his birthday is going in it's place:(.0 -
Mumto5....basically DD is in Yr2 and Yr3 upwards get to do Gymnastics after school......(one of DD's (boy) friends mother runs it)...and he goes with his mum.......DD asked said mum if she could go but was told no, Yr3+ only...fair enough. Talking to some mums outside school today and 1of them said that her daughter(in Yr2) went to gymnastics last night in school....so I said Oh, right, 1 rule for 1, and 1 for another(forgetting that the 2 mums are friends (and the gymnastics teacher is the school secrateary)!!!)0

Not a great day here, the glass for the doors arrived on monday and they were all broke. So now i'll have to wait until the end of the week to get replacements. I just hope they are in one piece.
Went to B&Q and the place was packed, i couldn't decide which colour to get so left empty handed. DD wants pink but i think she'll grow out of it in a year so don't want to have to repaint.:o
Good thing today is we have picked DD's carpet and it should be put down by next friday, so i better make my mind up soon.
Happy Birthday Lamewolf.:bdaycake:
Jenny congrats.:j
Mummyyof5 hope you get it sorted soon.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
:j:j:jMy List is done:j:j:j
I have also found 2 solutions today:
1) The numerous chargers in the junk drawer...I found one of those shoe hangers with the pockets in and hung it up in the kitchen over the boiler cupboard door-now each charger has a pocket of its own :TAnd it cleared a drawer which meant I could declutter the medicines strewn halfway through the food cupboard...thus leaving...an extra half a cupboard for food:T
2) Space for baby's clothes...We have a huge cupboard upstairs which I was using for pantry type space. I moved all the contents into the airing cupboard, and moved the linen into the hallway cupboard along with the beginnings of baby's clothes:T
Now I guess I should go read thread as I havent been on MSE all day...wasn't going to coz I got a bit overwhelmed, but LL gave me a kick on FB and told me to go say hi from her to you all - not sure what she's doing today but Im sure it'll be fun judging by some of her links on their today;)
ETA: Happy birthday LW

Phew, Tuesday's list is all done. Have done loads of washing, walked the dog, done school/nursery runs, supermarket shopping and I'm shattered! Still got ironing to do later - flylady is definitely motivating me to be more organised. Thanks ladies for the motivation, off to start dinner now.0
