quick question - group personal pension plans

hi there

new to the forum, hope not too many people have alreadty asked this (tried a search but couldn't find any similar threads).

i'm in a group personal pension plan run by scottish equitable, been in the scheme just over 1 year.

i'm now leaving my job and want to know if i can get a refund of my contributions?

i couldn't find any useful info on scottish eq's website either?

    No you cant.

    It either has to remain there or the pension can be transferred into another pension arrangement.

    If it was an occupational scheme ( final salary or money purchase) you can get your contributions back minus tax and often NI ( for S2P) if you leave before 2 years are up.But not with a group personal pension organised at a company.

    Always worth checking which type the pension is at the start of the job.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
