Emily's Debt Diary

Hello everyone - yes I am still around. I was going to try and get a break from my debt clearing but I can't seem to switch off so I'm back!!
The thing is that I think my 'clear a debt a month' idea has gone a bit stale and I seem to have grown a bit bored of the idea. It really did keep me motivated for six months and I managed to clear over 6k worth of debt in that time which I am proud of.
Anyway, I have decided to change tactics to keep myself motivated so I am now going to follow in the footsteps of a lot of people on here and start my own debt diary which I will try and post on everyday.
So to anyone who doesn't know my story, here it is:
I'm 25 years old and I'm in a fair amount of debt for someone of my age which I am trying my best to clear. I have cleared over £6,000 worth of debt already this year and I'm hoping to maybe get that up to £10,000 before the end of the year.
I have had a terrible year so far due to the fact that my baby nephew Joshua passed away in February aged just 18 days. Five days after this my poor dad passed away to go and take care of him for us. I will therefore be so glad to see the back of this year - I can't wait for 2007!!
I have also got an illness called Cystic Fibrosis which mainly attacks the lungs and digestive system. I have had this since birth and therefore I don't really know any better - my life is filled with tablets, needles, chest infections and basically feeling a bit rough most days!! But like I say I don't know any better and I know there are a lot of people out there who are worse off then I am.
I work full-time currently but I'm thinking of cutting my hours down to 30 a week due to my health. I also do other things in my spare time to get some extra money to throw at my debts which include AQA and mystery shopping. I also enter a lot of competitions and have won a few things recently which I have put towards my debts.
Anyway, I will post as often as I can to keep myself motivated. I plan on doing something positive everyday that will help me to clear my debts.
Take care
Emily xx
(by the way, I have still got my chest infection and I'm waiting to hear from the hospital as to what they are going to do next. I hope it's not the dreaded IV line  )
