It's certainly interesting. Really seems that based on a couple of test flights, they want to push ahead and get flying again.

Apparently European transport ministers will convene a meeting tomorrow to discuss the issue (by video conference not surprisingly)

the airlines seem to put the need for them to keep flying infront of the safety of passengers , either it is a threat to the engines or it isn't . i suppose now that a few airlines have done test flights the pressure to resume flying will intensify by the day

Well you can get planes up in the skies.

Question is, will the paying passengers be willing to fly?

I'm a nervous flyer, but my husband says "if it wasn't safe to fly, there wouldn't be any crew on it", so for me the question is, will the crew be willing to fly?

I thought Boeing/Airbus etc have clauses in their contracts that forbids the airlines knowingly flying through ash??

I would expect so. And there are pretty hideous inspection requirements if you anywhere near them with a Rolls or General electric under your wing.

Depends on the crew and how much they are getting nagged by the missus to stop spending time down the hotel with hosties half their age on full allowances doesnt it?

Naah, dont think they will be coming home if they dont have to.

He he naughty mbga... DH has worked for an airline for many years. Joking aside, I honestly don't think the crew will fly if they don't think it is safe, no matter how much pressure they feel under. Too much responsibility: to themselves, to their families, to each other and their passengers.

Why does a private business such as a bank need bailing out by the Government?
    Because they are the government.

I agree. We have a saying in the industry. Its better to be on the ground wishing you were up there than being up there and wishing you were on the ground.
