Grab a very cheap telly...glitch

Saw this and ordered, sneakily refrained from posting it on here in the hope that my order would slip through...no such luck, got an email cancelling the order, authorisation still outstanding on my credit card though.
Legally if they took the money, where would I stand?0 -
If they took the money you have a contract and can force them to fulfil their end of the bargain - but since they've cancelled I would expect them not to take the money. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

My sincere apologies to anyone who attempted to order one of the TVs advertised on our site last night for £76.38. These order attempts cannot be processed I'm afraid. As you probably expected this was indeed a glitch with our site - not a security issue, a database import that failed to run correctly.
It is not our intention to mislead people nor is this a cheap publicity stunt. We can ill afford the negative publicity such an incident causes and we are trying very hard to rectify some faults with a new live stock system that we had to psuh through very quickly in light of the previous problems with Clearance corner.
No money has been taken for any of these attempted orders (with the exception of a couple of people who elected to send us a cheque - these are being returned). We only take funds when the goods are despatched and hence no contract is in force until the order is accepted.0 -
"You order was canceled
This is to inform you that your order ...... has been cancelled.
The order may have been cancelled due to:
- incomplete or incorrect billing or delivery details being supplied
- problems with the method of payment used when placing the order
- problems relating to the product(s) purchased
We apologise for our inability to process your order. If you would like further information please contact us via our web site.

Wouldn't it have been a good idea to send a more detailed email to your customers than the above - presenting it as a problem with details I supplied, my payment card, or a problem with the product itself is quite sly in my opinion. An email in the same vein as the post above would have been much better received.
Lesson learnt, and details from my account deleted.0
