What is the best eye shadow?

Can someone recommend me a decent eye shadow. I have tried No. 7 and No. 17.

Thanks.

To be awkward, it depends what you're looking for!

Is there anything you didn't like in particular about the 17 or No7 ones?

I love stargazer stuff but most of theirs is pretty bright colours, I'm a No.7 fan too myself though, I have some rimmel stuff I find good. Have a little bit of elizabeth arden stuff and find it no different to my cheap stuff! I have a revlon one I find that gives a nice subtle effect.

If they're not lasting very well on the skin, are you using a primer in some form? I find a dab of liquid foundation prepared my skin as well as anything, just to give a better base.
  • Hi, i myself love the "Barry-M" eyeshadows there the loose powder ones, i use them all the time and i think ther great hth. x

  • Best as in compared to what? Depends what you are looking for in an eyeshadow. I use different brands for different looks im not particularly brand loyal.

MAC far better quality than any of the Boots ones, richer texture and more pigment.

The best one is that compliments your colour of eyes. I have bluie green eyes and Loreal Star secrets for green eyes suits me best. Tried and had mac, clinique, bobbi brown, No7, No17, maxfactor, boujoirs and more and this suits me best :)

I used to be a brand snob but now I'm an Avon convert - some really good stuff! I love their big colour pencil eye shadows, they last well.

    Thanks for the replies :)

I didn't like No. 7 as there didn't seem to be many colours to choose from. No. 17 is OK but I found that it comes off quite quickly but perhaps that is because I'm not using a primer.

I like the GOSH eye shadow. The one I have is a round palette with four shades of brown. The pale shade is used as a primer and the the two darker shades I use together on the brush. It gives a subtle but long lasting effect.

MAC ones are the best IMHO - pricey but very highly pigmented so they last ages.

I agree No 7 don't have a huge choice of colours, that's why I have sucha range of makes!

I love stargazers loose eyeshadows, a really strong colour and last all day for me. Major thing for me is they have a big range of colours, and are like £3 a pot. I find a primer (well again, liquid foundation) is a must if using loose powders though.

Most high street ones (rimmel, maybelline etc) are about the same as each other, I just pick them based on colour really!
