paying off mortgage via telegraphic transfer

Hi - I want to make final payment as per my redemption statement. The bank have given me the choice of paying by cheque or telegraphic transfer.
cheque is not an option, but I have several online banking options, so can I do the telegraphic transer through online banking or do I need to into the bank and pay for a CHAPs transfer?
the redemption statement also asks where the legal documents should be sent, they recommend solicitor for safe storage. I don't have a solicitor so guess I'd have to pay for this service. Was going to get them sent to me instead.
any advice?
