Moving House.
Hi,
I have a really good credit history, a credit card I pay off in full most months, £1000 in interest free overdraft and a good income.
Basically, I am getting married at the end of the year. We set out a budget for everything and generally we were generous with the budget so have undercut our budget on 90% of items. The wedding is going to cost about £12,500. Myself and my fianc!e still have to save £5500 for the wedding by the end of the year. We are doing out best to save about £400-700 a month for the wedding, however there is a small risk of having of a shortfall of between £2,000 - £4,000 by December this year when the wedding is, especially as you never know what life expenses may be around the corner.
I didn't have any trouble getting my credit card last year when living with my parents, but in February we moved in together and my fianc!e who earns more than me did a pre-application check for a barclaycard and was told she would be rejected if she applied cause we hadn't lived in our place long enough.
Now, how long are you generally expected to live somewhere to be deemed credit worthy? Because obviously I may be in the market for a small loan come October/November time. We have both just been put on the electoral roll and do everything in our power to give us the best credit expectations. I obviously don't want to start applying for loans and getting rejected because of a small fact that we have just moved to a new address, so thought I would ask if I would have any problems once we have lived here 6 months.
Any help appreciated.
Jonathon.

It does take a while for your credit report to be updated when you register on the electoral roll at a new address, have you checked your credit report to see if the update is on there?0
