Yes, I had this in a house I lived in and it nearly drove me insane, I hope you can resolve it amicably..........Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Not sure how far you'll get with Environmental Health if the barking is during day time hours only. We have a nightmare neighbour, he is a nasty cantankerous old man and he plays what can only be described as funeral music at full blast every single day, it's awful you can't go in the garden as you can't hear yourself think. We were informed by Environmental Health that there was nothing they could do as he only plays it during the day and they only respond to complaits between 11.00 pm and 7.00 am. Thank god I am moving in the next few weeks!
Sorry I can't be of more help just thought I would let you know what my experience was.0 -
Is the OP in the USA? Judging by the spelling of "neighbour" they may not have an Environmental Health......0

Well spotted but I have to admit to being UK based. It's all this US media getting into my head!0

barking dogs are covered by environmental health legislation - statutory nuisance. and the noise doesn't have to be only at night.
see most recent court case regarding barking dogs: http://www.cieh.org/ehn/ehn3.aspx?id=30386&terms=barking+dogs

Thanks, that's good to know, pity they aren't more helpful at combating excessively loud parlour music!0

Deffo should advice them to try the radio trick, works for our two dogs. or even one of those fabric dog muzzles, they leave enough room for the dog to lick up its water e.c.t but not enough for them to be able to open their jaws to bark..0
