DP Files & Missing Info

Hi, has anyone experienced receiving their data protection file which is missing information?

I had several phone conversations with the CSA which have not shown up in my DPF.

Do they always record phone calls and can I ask for a copy/disk of them?

And, when you request your file, do you also receive any correspondence which the other person (either the NRP or PWC) made with the CSA?

Many thanks

They never used to keep recordings of phonecalls made - they were used for training purposes only and not for recall of conversations - there should have been a written record of those.
  • Hi, thanks. So should all calls be included in my file? If I feel there are any missing, can I ask them to look through their records again?

Many of my conversations were abreviated so much that vital information was missing (and some pretty stupid comments put in like 'PWC was asked to take family dog'.
  • hiya you can ask for recordings of all calls i asked for my files to be sent to me and thought there was info missing so asked for anything else they held and they said i can get a disk of all calls ...i recd one the other day but they only sent it for the first three months and not the period i wanted so they are going to send the rest to me in few weeks hth

it depends on how long ago we are talking, they never used to record them.

Thanks bonjovibel - Did they say how far back they will go? I'm really happy at this news, thanks. I have a specific period in mind which goes back 20 months. So I guess I need to be very specific about the period of time in which I am requesting the calls.

I'm really glad I've never lost my cool during my conversations with the CSA, despite wanting to SEVERAL times.

    Thanks Kelloggs for your info.

LOL....well no wonder! Not surprised. Hope it helps you in your situation. Thank you very much for the info, I'll request the info I need, as always - in writing and recorded delivery.

    Thanks :)

If you don't get any joy, contact Information Commissioner Office, this worked for us, when CSA 'lost' 74 pages of our bank statements, which was coincidence, as this same 74 pages, was our proof that the CSA had totally messed up with the maintenance assessment.

Anyway, they still over 18 months later have not found them, but ICO have concluded CSA in our case are in breach of the 6th and 7th Priciple of the Data Protection Act, so our coplaint letter now gone to CSA CEO, where we have also requested financial redress from CSA.
