wanna buy hdtv in thailand

hi here in thailand they have slimfit samsung for under 300 gbp 32in i think this is a bargain. they have tescos over here wil lthe guarantee cover ait over in the uk u think? i know asda honour purchases from walmart usa. nother thing would i have to pay lot of tax on it entering the uk? only got tw o days to make up mind thx

so you plan on carrying a 32" TV home with you? or are you going to put it in the hold?
Problems I can see you suffering from,
Im almost certain that Thailand tv signal is NTSC the UK uses PAL
Plugs, the Thailand uses a 2 flat pin plug without earthing normally, the 2 pins can be different widths unlike the US plugs that may be a stumbling block some items do now come with a 3rd pin for earth you will need an adaptor 1 good thing they run on 220V at 50Hz like here.
As for importing the TV then you will propberbly not get away with walking through the nothing to declare channel with a TV under your arm so you will be charged VAT on everything that you have bought and brought back with you not just the TV is it worth the saving?
as for tesco honouring the warrenty god knows maybe spa2k or constantine will know they are tesco employees?0 -
