Tesco and raincheck vouchers

I've been into Tesco today to buy the Weetabix 72's at £2.40 but they didn't have any left. I asked for a raincheck voucher but the CS lady told me they were only issued if a product on a BOGOF was out of stock. Is this right? I've never asked for a raincheck before.

Yes they are only given if the product is BOGOF and there is only one left on the shelf.
So you buy the one item and when it's back in stock you hand the Rain Check voucher in and get the BOGOF one free iyswim?

They are only if a BOGOF is out of stock. So if something is one BOGOF & they only have one of the item's left in store, that's when you'd get the voucher.

At our local Tesco there were loads of people coming in and buying cases full of the Weetabix along with the phones that you got £25 off if you spent £50.

Eventually a limit of 4 packets of Weetabix per group was introduced and they soon stopped coming in.

I think they were stocking their local shops up.

I remember a few years ago people would stock up on baked beans and wait until the prices shot up then did deals to sell some back to supermarkets for a healthy profit.

i was in my local tesco today and the frozen 30 packs of chipolatas were on half price at 63p but there were none in the freezer so i asked an sa to see if they had some out the back and he came back with a " no" so i asked when the offer finished as it didnt say on shelf ticket, he went away and came back with a "dont know " but did explain that he had tried to find out by printing another shelf ticket as they should have the date on them which he gave to me and told me to take to customer services , so at customer services they couldnt get the date either and i asked for a raincheck voucher for 4 packs (yes i really like them chipolatas! ) which was given to me no problem and the lovely lady even had a smile thats what i call service !

As people have previously said the vouchers should only be given out for BOGOF things that have only one left on the shelf. All their offers are if available otherwise you could just go in and ask for the raincheck vouchers for stuff when it is on offer and then get it later. It would cost them a fortune.

if that is correct then i must have been very lucky but the lady who served me didnt mention any thing about bogof policys etc may be she just saw that i was geniune, i have never asked for a raincheck voucher anywhere before and i really wanted the chipolatas but it does go to show that there are some very helpfull customer service people at least in my local tesco and for that i am gratefull

I've got them at my local stores when an offer is out of stock - not just BOGOFs.

Our local store issue them for anything on offer that is out of stock - not just BOGOF's so no reason why yours shouldn't. x
