Good stuff! The most difficult part was facing up to your issues and finding us. It's all downhill from now on!

Just wanted to send a big hug!! Good luck with CCCS who I am sure will give good advice! Looking at your salary/income/outgoings cant quite suss the total debt...Have you checked whether a DMP would affect your job as some jobs are adversely affected. Not wanting to scare you, just want to be sure things dont get worse! You've done the hardest bit in taking your head out of the sand. The sorting etc is exhausting as you go through the shock/panic stage (I cried non stop for 2 days), then the sorting stage (where you are now!) & the hard slog bit (selling on ebay/amazon/car boots etc) whi can be exhausting. Life then settles into a different kind of normality (ie different to pre-lightbulb/rockbottom) but its fun! Once you get over the initial shock of realising how truly stupid you've been (sure most of us have!!) then you can start having fun in a different ways. getting bargains, finding MEGA bargains at car boots/charity shops, getting free books from libraries & hunting down cheap deals from places like quidco, pigsback & on the old style board...Getting revenge on the banks is truely fantabulous & I now know my (thankfully lovely & helpful) bank manager by name & we have a laugh at my refusal to pay interest where possible!! In addition you will get lots of support, some tough advice at times but a shoulder to cry on when tings go wrong & a hearty cheer when they go right! I would recc that you confide in at least one person "in real life" to get some support & hugs. Once I got over the shame of what I'd done & found this site I've told everyone (shame Martin doesent give commission!!) about my debt free journey & its quite incredible how supportive most peopls have been...Sorry this is long. Just read your post & took me back a few months so my heart goes out to you. PM/email me if I can help...am happy to ring you for a chat if you'd like to talk (on my new mega deal phone!!)...dont worry am not a nutter & have a police check - a clear one at that but wont be upset if you dont feel comfy with this! Regardless huge, suiqdyliscious hug coming at you & dotty cat (who helps me type!) send a big dribblely purr to your cat & says to tell her mummy will get better & stop crying soon!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Good luck for tomorrow.
I am on my second month of budget plan. Still some hard days but a lot of the stress and crying has gone. I am no longer scared to answer phone or door and that in itself is a great feeling. Like others have said you have done the hard part, admitting it and doing something about it. Well done and once again good luck xDFW NERD 276: Proud to be dealing with my debts.Champagne taste and lemonade money!!!
