Abbey require a "Disclaimer Form"?

Hi,I am in the middle of arranging a mortgage with Abbey for a friend of mine via a broker. The broker has stated that everything is now in place for an agreement in principle with the exception of a Disclaimer Form in relation to my friend's Working and/or Child Tax Credit statement.I have searched everywhere for this but come up blank. My broker has not dealt with many WTC or CTC based applications and has not come across this Disclaimer Form issue before. If anyone on this forum knows what is required I would be ever so grateful. Thanks

Sounds like the broker needs to advise Abbey by means of a fax that they have discussed the use of the benefits in getting the mortgage agreed with you and that you can still afford the mortgage one these benefits cease.

This should really be something the broker knows, or would be able to find out direct from the lender.

It's the first time I've heard it asked for but I know that disclaimers are being sent out about now (due to the new tax year) for claimants to confirm that their circumstances haven't changed.

I'm guessing that this is another half wit in the underwriting department at Abbey who, I would bet, wouldn't be able to tell you why they had asked for this.
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!
