if youre stuck in the mournes it'll be most likely the police or irish coastguard helping you out. Its a good idea esp for rural dwellers but how often would it really be used?? maybe a list of worthwhile NI charities would be worth starting - NI Leukamiea Research Fund- all money to fund research thats it!!!

Coastguard or RAF, watch highland emergency ch 5 thats are taxes being well used.

I take it if you're caught in the mournes though, the Irish coastguard or police helicopter would be the nearest?....and if you're in the Sperrins its probably the same?

So what did Air Ambulance Ireland hope to achieve?

Well it certainly seems that they achieved giving over a million pounds worth of employment to several people so job well done then!
