Hi all,
Had one of these awful loans and as we came into some money we decided to pay it all off. Anyway when I rang today they were very keen to offer me a much better rate on the existing loan to lower our repayments. We didn't want this as we could afford to pay it off but I thought it might be a helpful tip if you are struggling with one of these, enquire about paying it off and they may offer you a better rate.
Worth a try anyway. good luck, Clare

Thanks for the info. It's a good lesson actually that you can always ask for a rate reduction. It wont always work, but I've had success in the past with credit cards.
Go on, give them a ring - can't do any harm and you never know!Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
Debt free 21st Oct 2011.
All thanks to :money:0 -

Did they charge you a huge penalty fee?
I'm wondering if that only applies to their secured loans. I have a secured loan with this company and might give your suggestion a try, although I'd rather keep paying the same amount and pay it off sooner!
JamesTotal Debt: Owe about £19,000 on credit cards plus £24,000 which is my half of joint loans.0
