thanks everyone for your input,
Went out and got a Sony HC35m as didnt have to time to order online. Seems a lovely camera, the wife loves it for the night mode so she's doing her best 'most haunted' recreations..
Thing I dont like is I havent yet found how to copy the tape to the PC, it seems it insists on you burning to a VCD... which is really annoying...0
