Near us we have a 'farm shop' its not your usual type - they sell fruit and veg and then lots of tins/packets etc (many out of date which i avoid)
so today i went and got a sack of king edwards at £1.90 - 20kg
and a big bag of what i think are chatenay carrots - charged at 50p - im rubbish at weights but i reckon theres about 3lb in there.
Does anyone know how they can sell these so cheap ?

Possibly because they wont have much in the way of transport costs ect. If they grow them there it wont cost much (just the cost of growing them and the cost of the small farm shop) so can probably pass on the savings.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Sounds like some of the farm shops around our way - some of ours don't even have local or even British veg at times, there's often stuff imported from Holland...if I want imported veg I'll go to a supermarket, in a farm shop I kind of expect to see local if not at least British produce on offer!DFW no.554 - Proud to be dealing with my debts :TDAVID TENNANT CAN PROBE ME WITH HIS SONIC SCREWDRIVER ANYTIME...:AFLYING THE FLAG FOR THE CAMBRIDGE BOOTS TARTS :happyhear0
