Does anyone have a link to the actual results because the two papers' "results" contradict each other.
Personally, I'm not sure about whether Asda's factor 15 being actually factor 24 is a good thing. If I wanted a higher factor I'd buy that, surely someone would have a reason for choosing factor 15 over 25, and being more than 50% out on your advertised calculation of spf is not something to instil confidence in a product.

I think I would prefer it to be over than under, especially if I'm putting it on my kids.

I think 1 pharmacy chain don't stock any suncream over a certain factor as independant tests proved that there was a maximum and any more SPF was pointless. I would google it myself but I'm using my phone as I'm out of the house.

    I think it lloyds.

I only ever use soltan from boots as it's the only one I have found that doesn't make everything feel greasy.

I used to use avon's own stuff but I found it left stains on all our clothing thY just woulndt come out.

  • Oh, it's a "Which?" survey.

    I trust that then.

They really need to get some credibility. Clearly there are things that we all know quite a lot about.

For me, it's Computers, Home Cinema and Photography. Every single survey I've seen Which? do goes against what not only the pros think, but what everyday experience tells you.

I certainly wouldn't buy any product based on the back of a Which? survey. Ever
The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.

I agree, certainly where children are concerned, but wouldn't I (or you) have bought the spf 25 in the first place? I know I would have.
My point was that if the sample tested by which? was found to be over 50% out on the manufacturer's declaration what's to say that the bottle you take off the shelf today is as "wrong" as that one. It might not be, if Asda's tolerance for error is so high it could be as "wrong" in the opposite direction, and so help cause damage to your kids' skin. I'd rather use one of the kinds which were found to be near the declared spf. At least their tolerance for error is more acceptable.

Has anyone actually used Asda sun lotions? Did you get any rash from using it? I generally get prickly heat so I avoid brands like Piz Buin and Ambre Solaire.

Dare I say that I am a fan of Tesco suntan cream?? (but not a fan of Tesco) I too suffer from prickly heat, I also use Piz Buin but have found Tesco to be just as good!

I would say to be careful with the Asda kids' lotion - the green one - as two of my three kids came out in a rash when using it.

I brought and used the asda great stuff sun cream factor 30 last year on a very hot 30+ degree holiday with no rash/sunburn etc on both adult and children.

I purchased the 50ml small tubes as found these a great size to have in handbag/beachbag.
