I don't really understand your maths
before your new job it would seem from what you said that neither the OD or the CC were actually reducing i.e. although you paid some off each monthyou also spent it again.

but now you have some extra salary which you will use almost completely to pay for a loan for a car ... deosn't seem to make any sense
