 to the cruise . We are going on our first ever cruise next week, I THINK I'm looking forward to it :rotfl:. It's a Spanish cruise line so I can envisage lots of noisy conversations but hopefully no fighting
. Doing a Baltic Sea cruise, so St Petersburg is another tick off the bucket list
NG I assume you have a bucket list? Did you complete your 40 list or am I dreaming that you had one :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hi GG, I hope all is well in GG world
I really hope you enjoy it, it can be a cheap (sometimes!) way to see the world. I envy you going to Russia, where else is on your bucket list?
My bucket list has been left to wither and die unfortunately, I think I achieved about 2/3’s on there if I remember correctly, will have to track it down , I’m 44 now and wrote it at 39 so it’s a few pages back :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Hectic few days again, too many things going on at the moment. We are often a house bursting at the seams, some days it’s good, somedays I need a break :rotfl:
Ds1 has been laid off his (temporary ) job for three weeks, however they want him to go back and be permanent so that’s some good news. Dd is still waiting for her results from uni - Thursday hopefully. Ds2 has found a lump in his neck but is refusing to get it checked out as “it’s not serious”he has agreed to go if it is there still in two weeks, so that’s two weeks of worry then...(for me not him it seems!)
Family problems galore with ds2 ‘s girlfriend/dd’s boyfriends family- they are both staying here tonight. Ds2 has lost his passport- again! Dh is ill in bed and the cat hasn’t just piddled on ds2’s only clean work top.
Other than that all is well today :rotfl:
Hopefully tomorrow will bring a positive and mortgage related uplifting postMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Oh Newgirly, that all sounds a bit much! I'm not surprised it's more than you can cope with! Make sure you take some time for yourself.
Don't know if it's worth it, but with doctors round here you can't just get an appointment when you want one. Could you persuade ds2 to book the appointment and then cancel if it's disappeared when it comes round? A bit of peace of mind for you that something is being done?Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks vix, I managed to get to bed at 9pm tonight so that’s a result! Ds wont let me book him an appointment for the future even though I had already outlined the point you made, he’s keeping an eye on it and letting his girlfriend check it over the next few days. Our doctors are pretty quick with appointments if it could be something worrying.
I don’t know how I have such a non plussed son with such a hypochondriac for a mother
No time for financials again today as I’ve not looked, but I’ve spent £76 in ald* (on way home from work to save petrol :A) and have been cooking almost everything from scratch and trying to not have much waste. Tonight used up six over ripe bananas making no flour pancakes for some of the kids and my breakfast tomorrow at work. I’m spending more time in the kitchen but am eating better, cheaper and losing weight steadily again, so it’s worth it :T
Big amazon delivery came today of discounted toiletries - including 18 shower gels, should last a couple of weeks at the current rate :rotfl: I think being more organised will help save money, I used to so much better at that sort of thing.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Glad you got a good night's sleep and the cooking is going well. You're so right about being organised being the key to saving money... I've fallen off the organised wagon the last couple of weeks and it shows! It feels good to be getting back on top of things though.
Hope the lump disappears of its own accord. I'm a hypochondriac too, is be straight down the doctors! Men!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

i thought before work I’d make a quick note of what I want to achieve on my days off this week:
Update financials and mfw thread (even with barely no ops made!)
Check holiday costs vs money we will have in to pay for it and see if it’s enough
Decide what to get dad for his 70th next month - a very difficult task
Set a mini challenge for now until the end of sept
Track and update spending on here to reduce wastefulness
Oder Costco cake for dds boyfriends birthday
Sort dhs birthday present , no idea!
Put together travel mini toiletries for our break to Amsterdam for kids and us next month, will need to add to my stash
Work out budget for dhs trip for his 50th in 2022 and how much we’d need to start saving
Plus the usual housework, cooking etc.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Oops sorry Vix didn’t see you’re post yesterday, must have cross posted!
Great news yesterday as Dd finally got her results and she got a first :T such a relief after the stress trying to get the results released after a paperwork/ student loan error on their part. So a bit of spending happening this week! Flowers, wine and chocolate last night on the way home - £19 and I’ll take ever out for a treat to tomorrow
Popping to the shops for a coffee with her today and then hopefully I'll back later to cross some things off yesterday’s listMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
