Tax Refund

Okay, I know you are probably all sick of people asking about their tax refunds, but couldn't find another thread which quite fitted my situation.

I was dismissed from a job on 1st April 2009, I was then on JSA until 20th July 2009. I worked in this job (temp job) until August 5th, 2009.

I started permanent employment on 1st September 2009, and am still in that same role.

I was on the tax code 647L1 from Sept 2009 until about a week ago. I phoned the tax office and they said I was on a 'month one/week one tax code' (not sure what that means).

Because I didn't work for about 3 months of the tax year last year, do you think I would be due a tax refund?

Yes, I think you will be due a refund. You need to wait until you get your P60 from your current job and then write to your tax office, telling them what you have told us, enclose your P60 and ask for a refund.
