purelydiamonds and 77diamonds

Hi, Anyone had experience of either of these sites? I have a ring from purelydiamonds and I've been delighted with their service. The ring is lovely. However, I see 77diamonds are very competitively priced and I might have got a better quality diamond from them for the same price. Any feedback to share? Thanks xx

My engagement ring is from 77diamonds and I was totally over the moon with the service!! We got engaged in Australia on 9th Dec and flew back to the UK on 14th Dec. We ordered the ring on 16th and then got a call the next day to say that the diamond we had chosen had a large black inclusion in the centre of it, and would we like to choose another. We didn't have internet access at the time so the guy went through the stones he had in front of him and recommended the one he thought would go best with the setting - this actually turned out to be cheaper than the one we'd originally chosen so we got a partial refund! The ring arrived on 23rd Dec - bearing in mind that this was over their busy Christmas period I couldn't believe I had it for Xmas!
OH and I both "Followed" 77diamonds on Twitter, and throughout the whole process he was tweeting to us the progress of our order, and after delivery asked whether we were happy and could they help any more. They were wonderful and think we will probably get my wedding ring from them aswel (haven't really looked for them yet)
I have a Platinum Ballerina if you're interested, with a .68carat diamond  and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it and grin like an idiot every time I look at it!
If you love your ring from purelydiamonds then it doesn't actually matter what quality your diamond is or how much it cost. I think 77diamonds have quite a small range of settings, it just happened that "Ballerina" was identical to one I'd seen & loved in Ernest Jones (though that was uncertificated and a much smaller diamond for the same price). We also looked on BlueNile as that was recommended to us by one of OH's colleagues but I couldn't see anything I liked.0 -
Thanks for the reply, the information is very helpful. 7I find that 77diamonds website is also pretty good in terms of choosing a diamond according to lots of criteria and your budget. I'm impressed, although like I say, purelydiamonds have been more than obliging.0

Yeah the whole process was very intuitive and easy to do. I used to work in a jewellery store and must have been a nightmare for OH as I was quite picky about the stone but it was easy to narrow it down by colour/clarity/size/price etc. Also, I was really worried about buying such an important item from the web, but I've been raving about them ever since and would recommend it to anyone!
And thank youI think so! This is the one I liked in Ernest Jones and I've had a sneaky look at it in the shop since mine arrived and it really is an identical setting.
Have you ordered the ring from purely diamonds? If you're happy with the ring & the service then I really wouldn't worry about what value you could have got and thinking "what if"! Unless you can find an IDENTICAL ring for much less cash I'd just not think about it! In all honesty, it's not just the ring that makes me grin when I see it, but the significance of it - the fact that I'm engaged and head-over-heels with my OH and that we're planning the rest of our lives together. If I was offered a huge rock of perfect colour & clarity instead of the one I have, I'd turn it down as it wouldn't be my engagement ring.0 -
Hi we used purely diamonds for my engagement ring and I can't rate them highly enough. The service was great and the diamond was a better grading than stated on the website. I love my ring!!0

Thank you to you both, I am going to stop looking at rings, beautiful as they are, and start wrecking my own head with other details, like dresses!0
