ok, really trying to resist going to the hairdresser and paying a fortune to have my hair done, but my roots are now about 2inches long!!!
so decided I would have a go at something myself to keep it going a while longer, and where else would I turn but MSE!!
any OS ideas for brown hair colour/highlights?
cheers all

Hi MinniMe,
There are loads of hair dying threads on the I wanna board. If you type "hair+colour" into the search box at the top right of that board you should be able to find them. One with some really good replies is: Dye my hair?
Let me know if you want me to move your thread over to the I wanna board.

i get mine done at home by my hairdresser that comes to my house. they are MUCH cheaper than going to a salon. I pay £6 for a cut and blow dry, and £20 for highlights and lowlights (all over) and cut and blow dry
BARGAINOUS! might be worth checking out your local paper for an at home hairdresser.
I used to pay £120 for my hair to be coloured (preMSE days!) i must have been MAD!0 -
Another thing to try is being a model at a local salon - the trainees are supervised & it's pretty cheap.
Or try the home highlight kits - I use the Garnier Multi-Lights kit, about £4-£5 in Asda or Boots. Comes with a mascara-type comb to apply the highlights....it's really easy to use - I am really cack-handed & I can't do too bad a job as I go to Toni & Guy every 3 months for a trim & the colour is always admired!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
