Mortgage to buy new place, even though I havent sold my existing one yet?

I am due to sell my property in 3 months time, but have fallen in love with a place a few streets away, and i know i could get it for a great price, is there any way of getting a new mortgage BEFORE i sell my current house? Someone said Halifax may do, can anyone help please? I really dont want this other place to go!!

Nobody on here can give you an accurate reply........ask halifax or another lender.........once you have given all your details!

If you can afford (in the eyes of a bank/ broker) both mortgages it's a walk in the park.

When you say "due to sell" do you mean you have a buyer and that you're waiting to exchange contracts? If so, bridging finance could be an option once exchange has happened.

So why can't the buy wait 3 months or would that still be an issue on borrowing?

i have a buyer once they have their deposit together, 2 cars to sell to make up a large deposit, but the place i am after has had an offer on it, the sellers are considering it, but know i want it when i sell my place. Only thing is they are wanting to move abroad asap, i guess i dont have any other options?
