Are Scottish Water a good employer?

What has been your experience in working for Scottish Water? Are they a good employer? Any particular good/bad points?

I've worked for them and my dad still does. They are a good company to work for, I had no problems and the wages are good too.

I have a couple of old friends who work for Scottish Water.....both of them are very happy and have spent most of their working lives with the company. For the record they work in rural areas, 'in the field' so to speak.

Do you happen to know what would be the easiest way to get an 'entry level' job at Scottish Water? I'd like to work for a company where I would have some opportunities for promotion once I've gained enough experience. I'd also be happy to study on my own time if I needed to.
