Clearing down my debt at last

Zarazara, we've been cultivating the land for the past 10 years and it's in such great shape for growing food, plus we're finally getting apples from our orchard and we have plenty of space for our livestock, we couldn't part with it. Also, We left London and moved here to get land and find a less complicated life for our dd, and it's worked out beautifully, plus we have space to add an annex for her when she's an adult.LBM: 23/7/09. Tixy, we do heat our water with an electric immersion heater. Good point I'll check out how long it's on.
This is so helpful. I have list of things I can potentially chop out, which is exactly what I needed.LBM: 23/7/09. Total Debts on 23/7/09: 24,961

Glad to hear its giving you food for thought. Not all suggestions will work but the more people can suggest the better chance some of them will be suitable for your situation.
You are certainly not in a terrible position at all financially but then any painless savings have to be worth looking at don't they?

Tixy, that is exactly what I've been saying to my OH tonight. What's the point of wasting money needlessly when we could clear our debts by Christmas and then target the mortgage.
Two years ago this would have been completely unthinkable for us, we just lived in debt and thought nothing of it.
The best thing is to actually know that we will never borrow money again. That's a fabulous feeling.LBM: 23/7/09. Total Debts on 23/7/09: 24,961

well done frugal!
You seem to be well in control and making further inroads.
I hope to be pretty much where you are in about 3yrs (maybe not still clearing loans) but in a comfy house with mortgage, living comfortably but sensibly...
Actually it's where I should be now if I hadn't been so wasteful for so long! hey ho! Better late than never!0 -
GB, it was a lesson that took a long time to take. After many, many false starts we're finally on a path. We are heading towards our mid 40's and feel that if we don't do something now, we'll be staring down the barrel of the retirement gun, and in a worse situation than ever.
Thanks for the support. We can support each other
