Old Social Security Building in Shaftsbury Square

I have often wondered why no-one has bought/developed the old Social Security Building in Shaftsbury Square (Beside the Equality Commission & Halifax bank)
It's a complete eyesore..... The fabric of the building though not very athetically pleasing seems sound so why doesn't the local authorities do something with it....(provided they still own it that is!!)

Yeah it deffo is an eyesore, if you wana see inside the building go to this websites forum http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/ and search for it, some people got inside and took photographs as well as other buildings in n.ireland like the crumlin road courthouse, closed down hospitals etc0

Did anyone else try and search that site?? I did but after 6 failed attempts at entering the random 6 numbers and letters I have given up!!!Im knitty, Im nutty, but I dont know anyone called Nora.0

I did a generic search for Belfast and it threw up a number of threads including this one;
