Hi,
I was wondering if I am on a DMP and my O/H and I went for a mortgage (but obviously use his salary to finance it) can we still have it taken out in joint names?
I have an appointment with cccs on the 18th so I may be going down this route, please help!

Wonder Girl is really the one to ask but I did read that under the terms of a DMP you are allowed to get a mortgage! I think!

All other forms of credit are barred though! However if you were to get a mortgage in your name aswell your credit rating more than likely wouldn't be favourable to the outcome! :think:0 -

Getting/swapping a mortgage is fine, in fact if you wait till you have spoken to us we will refer you to an independent mortgage company we use.
Your DMP states no further consumer credit, a mortgage is “good” debt(if there is such a thing) and won’t make that much of a difference to your budget as any rent you already pay will be balanced out with the re mortgage payment, you will might even find that your outgoings are less with the mortgage repayment.
