Splitting up the Big Shop

I live near an area that has an asda, a sainburys and an aldi all in the same shopping park. I'm usually an asda person but sometimes go to aldi. Asda usually does work out cheaper because of all the BOGOF deals and smartprice stuff etc but sometimes that's not worth my while because i might not want 3 loaves of bread or 4 big bottles of coke when it's just me and my housemate!! Asda's better for meat as you can buy loads with the deals and fill the freezer. Aldi is good for things like crisps and snacks and tins.
Does anyone else split up the shop like this and if so what do they buy from where...i've got tesco, netto and morrisons well within my reach too!

I favour Asda but go to Tesco & Morrisons regularly, Sainsbury every couple of months and Lidls when I'm near it. When I'm running low or buying something expensive I check the offers and swoop - like Morrisons have Douwe Egberts coffee for £2.84 so I bought 4 jars. I get snacks from Approved Foods mail order!0

Well we break ours up...Some of the quality in Asda is poor so we buy certian bits from Tesco's because of that and we now do a regular shop at Lidl or Aldi as well as our normal shop. We're quite lucky where we go as drive past a Lidl, 2 x Asda, 2x Tesco's, a Morrisons and an Aldi all in the space of a few miles.
We are considering this week to have a look in Iceland and Farmfoods though as they are also in the area we go shopping. We have come to like Morrisons as some of the deals they have had of late are great...0 -
Yes i split mine up , as luckily for me I have plenty of food superstores local to me . I normally check all the discounted short dated etc shelves first in everyone I shop in .
My fave supermarket is Asda for smartprice stuff especially tins and packets of ham , yogurts as dd eats plenty of these . I shop at my local co op very regulary as they normally reduced all the meats and other things vary depending on the time and day you go so I get joints of meat and desserts etc from there very cheaply and stock my freezer up .
I get bread from Iceland if I dont get it cheaper elsewhere as they stock the ones I like best on offer and again fill the freezer for the week also frozen food as its mainly a £1 a box
I get fruit and vegtables from a local shop as I find them fresher and cheaper than other shops , but I sometimes buy it from Lidl or Aldi as theirs are fresher also .I also buy soft drinks from here with alcohol for parties / wekends etc as again its cheaper and they deliver for £1.50Ebay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin

I use to every weekend go to nettos for all my storecupboard and fridge stuff and then farmfoods for frozen foods, bread and milk. I stopped doing this when I moved house and have also become sumwhat addicted to collecting Tesco points

However on reflection my finances have suffered so I think this weekend will see me return to my old shopping habbits as I was forced to shop to a budges plus neither of these shops sells clothes or expensive tupperware type goods (another secret addiction) So I spend far less0 -
I do but I use mysupermarket as you can print out a shopping list, and it highlights in red the ones that are cheaper in the comparison supermarket so you can get the best deal.
It saves so much time and foot power...Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
It makes sense to try(if possible)and take full advantage of special deals at supermarkets by going halves with friends/families.0

I shop all over. My nearest is tesco but I never do full shop there, I find them to be quite expensive. I like Morrisons and Lidl and sometimes go to Sainsburys and Aldi as they are all pretty local - Morrisons probably furthest away but worth it. We are getting an Asda later in the year too so that should mix things up a bit as they are building it in the City right next to Aldi. I also stock up on food at B&M bargains every couple of months.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Our shopping habits are driven by convenience. We have various supermarkets very close but we do a trolley dash every Sunday morning at Morrissons. In at 09:30, out by 10:10. Home and un-packed by 10:30. We place a value on our time and the savings made by going round 2 or 3 supermarkets no way would ever outway the waste of our time incurred by doing a shop at 2 or 3 supermarkets.--

I find Asda to be good for baking ingredients, cereal, cat food (when at a store that stockes feline fayre) and frozen deals along with good price on things like Squash, yogurts etc.
Sainsbury's do a lot of good half price deals, often have good prices for washing powder and I prefer most of their own brand items to everywhere else. I think if you shop sensibly Sainsbury's are much cheaper than people expect them to be.
I get my fruit and veg from Aldi when I can as that has shaved a huge amount off my shopping bill and I love their spices range with vanilla pods etc much cheaper than elsewhere.0
