in Cutting tax
Hi,
A question.
I started my new job on the 1st March. We get paid on the 15th of the month, for the whole month. As i wasn't set up in time, i've had to wait till today (15/04) to get paid.
I've now been paid two months salary in one lump sum. My previous salary was 26775, and i received around 1640 per month, i'm now on 30k and i've just received 3375, which works out at 1687 (not a precise calculation i know).
Tax code is 647L.
Is there anything i can do about this, as this should have been two payments, one in the last tax year, and one in this?

It's possible.

Nothing you can do about it now. You are assessable on the amount paid to you in the year, not the amount due.
You may be due a small refund for last year as you were not paid for the whole tax year - ask your tax office to check.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
all things being equal you will be owed about £108 which is the un-used allowance that was not used in 2009-100
