Have failed applications ruined my chance of getting a loan

Hi
This is my first post and any help or advice would be much appreciated.

I have been trying to get a loan (or even an interest free cc) since I bought my flat and moved in over a year ago. I have made 5/6 applications in the last year but I keep getting rejected. I have seen my credit report from Experian but it only shows 2 historical account details and nothing current, even though I have 2 loans, 1 credit card, a mortgage and a mobile phone contract.

I have not missed any payments. I am on the electoral roll. I earn over £35k.

I was looking for a loan of £14k - to consolidate my two loans, cc and have some money for home improvements, as well as reduce my current payments (£630 p/m).

I can't understand why my first application was unsuccessful and now I think have I completely ruined my chances by making all the other applications. Have I?

I contacted Experian to say that information was missing from my report and when they looked into it they only found the two historical accounts and one missing address when I was on the electoral roll. They have now added these. Is there anything I can do to get my full details on the report and can I get any of the checks removed? It looks like MBNA made 6 searches for two cc applications.

After all my bills I am left with hardly anything for the month and keep getting into more debt to get by, so without reducing my repayments I can't see any alternative and I am starting to get really anxious. Any suggestions please?

Thanks so much.

You need to get over to the Debt Free Board and post a full statement of affairs (all your income and outgoings) using the sticky at the top of the forum.

Once you have posted this up, people will be able to help you see where your money is going.

Consolidation of debt is rarely a good idea and you are much better trying to see if you can pay it off yourself, by upping your income (ebay, carboots, second job etc) and reducing your outgoings.

As you say you are getting into debit by using your cards as you have no money left, there is something wrong with your budget. The truth is that you are unlikely to be able to get out of debt unless you review your spending etc. But post your SOA first and see what comes out of that. Good luck
