changed my mortgage payment date and its cost me £152 quid!

i changed my payment date to 10 days later this month due top being a bit strapped for cash and rather than it being returned and incurring charges i thought stuff it il move it, so thats all been sorted but i have to pay an extra £152 quid in % charges is tehre any way around this because its just going to skint me out next month now too!:eek: :mad:

Unfortunately that is how it works. You are paying (presumably) £14.20 interest per day and putting it back 10 days means paying an extra £142.
Moving dates like this is only an advantage if you are paid monthly and want to bring everything in line with your payment dates.

As i can see it - you're not paying extra only the interest you would have paid on those 10 days the following month. they should of explained this too you and not left you thinking it would be the same amount just ten days later, it will resume to normal next month.
Is there anyway you can postpone paying something or cut back on something else for a few weeks, don't know if this is an option (i can't see your signature in the yellow writing!! - I think I have trouble with some colours!!).0 -

thanks im just flabber ghausted !
last month i had to cancel my payment due to not being paid amount had expected so i waited for the letter from the mortg company explained to them that i would put a cheque in the post and i wasnt charged any additional interest then! and they didnt get paid until a week or so later
never mind! the thing is it isnt going to benifit me at all by moving it in the future but what it means is i will have been paid by then!

You wouldn't have had top make up the money - they would have just put the extra interest onto your mortgage.
