£140 per month Overdraft Fees!!!! Please help me!

Hi Peeps,

I've recently got letters from Halifax saying they will charge me £5 per day for an arranged overdraft fee, which they amount to £140 per month.

This is going to cripple me! They took out that amount this month. Is this even legal???? Its criminal!

I'm unemployed, and have an arrangement to pay back £1 per month.

How do I get them to stop these crippling charges???

Please help!

Number 1 get a new bank account and stop using that Halifax. Dont pay another penny in as you will only end up losing that anyway.
Basic account is fine as you cant go overdrawn.

As you are in financial hardship you should be able to reclaim all that on hardship grounds.
Read this and leave the Halifax for the moment, those overdraft rates are worse than the old £35 ones imo.

Explain your situation and ask them not to add any more. After all adding charges to pay other charges must be seen as unfair.
