These are Money Saving Diva's I make them with soya margarine, which is vegan, for my MIL, and they're lush! I use half a mashed banana instead of the egg too when I don't have eggs, but it should be OK without the egg.

These are remarkably cheap if you use Tesco value pb at 45p a jar (approx)
A BIG thank you to Angelnikki who did the conversions for me!
    1/2 cup / 125g / 4.5oz butter or marg
    1/2 cup / 115g / 4oz granulated sugar
    1/2 cup / 115g / 4oz brown sugar
    1/2 cup / 150g / 5.5oz peanut butter - I use crunchy
    1 egg
    3/4 tsp bicarb of soda
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1 & 1/4 cup / 150g / 5.5 oz sieved flour (I have used self raising but don't think it matters much)
    1/4 tsp salt
Cream butter and sugar and pb together. Beat in egg and then stir in all other ingrediants.
Shape dough into balls, place on lightly greased baking sheets.
Dip fork into flour and then press down onto the balls to make ridges. Flour stops fork sticking to dough.
Bake at 180 degrees/350 degrees F for about 10 mins.
    Makes about 26
    Hope you enjoy!

    Hi Skipsmum

I made these ones from this thread but they contain an egg. I am not sure how egg substitutes work though... Thread discussing them here . Sorry, I don't know a vegan recipe specifically - hopefully someone else will

I/ll add your thread to the cookie one later :)

    thanks

Hehehe, this reminds me of a phone conversation I had recently with my (28yo, accountant) brother, who had a vegan friend coming to stay for the weekend. After going through various recipe suggestions with him, and being met with 'so that means I have to buy <xyz piece of equipment>, right?' (xyz being variously a large pot, a grater, a sharp knife and a baking sheet :o) and having to describe various vegetables in detail, (anyone want to know how I described a butternut squash?) I gave up, and as far as I know, he went through with his original idea of handing her a giant bag of carrots as she walked through the door...:rotfl:
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

It was the second one Mrs B and you're welcome skipsmum, hope DS is OK. You also need to let us know which recipe you used and if you used a substitute, and how it worked out ;)

    Hi skipsmum,

I've added your new thread to the original one so that the people who helped can read your thanks and see the recipe that you used.
