in Cutting tax
Hi guys, a bit of help needed sorting out tax rebate stuff.. just tried calling HMRC, way too busy so i thought i'd get a quick bit of advice here.
I graduated in July, claimed JSA up until August, then from September to Dec, had a few weeks work, then Jan-Feb. Then started my current job, I received my P60 this year. It says through this company I have earnt just over £2000 and paid 170quid in tax. My colleague was also on the phone to HMRC earlier at work and she passed me across, woman over the phone asked me for details of my previous employment and JSA and said i'd need to add all those together??
Presumably if i add the totals up (comes to well under the 6470 allowance (2000 + 1250ish) I will get the 170quid tax back, and how do i go about this, do i need to fill out a specific form and send off all P45s?
yoyo.

You just write a letter setting out clearly all your employments and periods of claim in the y/e 5/4/10 and send this with your P60 to your tax office and ask them to deal with your repayment.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

If you have paid tax and earned under the personal allowance of £6475 then yes you are due a refund.
You need to write to your tax office and state that you think you are due a refund. Enclose your P45 and P60 ( takle a photocopy of each first).0 -
Cheers guys.
Send all originals and keep photocopies, or the other way around?0
