You need the decide on budget, as with everything if you want the best you can spend alot of money, they are very simialr to pc's when they are speced up. The more the better, fastest processor and most memory are the 2 to look at. you then go for the extra features like wifi, bluetooth memory card slots.

As for playing videos as long as you get a windows based one they come with windows media player which is capable of playing most types of media file. the only problem you may find if you plan to watch movies is battery life they tend to die pretty quickly.

There are very few pda's that have GPS built in and your best option would be to buy one with bluetooth and get a bluetooth gps receiver.

The HP's are excellent, but repair costs are just plain rip off. When I had a problem this guy did a much better job and cheaper than HP

    Hi Rev

Can you use the X51V as a sat nav unit?

    Thanks

Sorry, didn't see this reply till just now.
I'm pretty sure you can use it for sat nav but not 100%. Probably best giving dell an email if you decide to go with the x50 and check first.

The x51 has bluetooth so with a bluetooth GPS receiver it will do GPS, you will need a memory card 128MB will store the GB tom tom map but not alot more so go for a bigger card the bigger the better to fit more films on if you still want that as an option just dont get the bottom of the range X51-416MHz it doesnt have bluetooth. the best one is the X51v-624 double memory and faster processor. for only £30 more.

If you want a free PDA with bluetooth and wifi I just got the Orange spv m3100 for free on an upgrade, t-mobile call it the mda vario 2 and vodaphone have it too v1605 I think. smaller screen makes the unit more portable wifi built in its fantastic.

phone you mobile provider if your on contract and tell them you want an upgrade, and that orange, voda or tmobile have all offered you their model of the phone for free and they should give it to you for nothing if you pay £25 or more a month. free PDA and new phone.
