appt with advisor tomorrow - fee?

got an appt with a local advisor tomorrow, initial meeting is free then after that its £495 but adjustable depending on how much work she needs to do, is this right? Or should i avoid? Just want a basic chat and to know what options i have to start with

if the basic chat is free then there's no harm in it. She will explain more about how she will be paid tomorrow hopefully and then you can take it from there.Happily an ex mortgage broker!0

cheers people, wasnt sure about the fee as assumed (forgive me if im wrong) the advisor got payment for arranging it through the lender themselves

They won't charge you for first meeting...also then they will explain fee structure....don't worry!....good luck...0 -

The free meeting is for them to explain how they get paid.
Not all lenders pay a commission to the broker. So, the adviser could be one that only considers commission based lenders. Or they could be one that considers all lenders and rebates any commission (if paid) to offset the fee.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
