Sorry to be the one to say it, but I think the fault on this is yours, not Tesco.

    ...snip...

I notice you aren't moaning at your work - had they confirmed quicker, then it would have been fine, yes?

Oh believe me, I have repeatedly moaned at work! But that's not really of relevance to a consumer forum, is it?

Fair enough on the Ts &Cs, however that is well buried on their site - they do repeatedly announce before stumbling upon the Ts & Cs that it only takes 5 days. I do think that 28 days is unreasonable but as you say, that's up to them.

why didnt you order the rewards vouchers in advance? you dont have to wait til you have booked the holiday to change them into vouchers, that is cutting it way too fine, as even if tesco had sent them out earlier, you cant trust the postal system

tbh, i think the blame lies with you and your employer. they have caused you the delay, not tesco

Well, as I said above, Tesco do repeatedly lead you to believe that they do a 5 day turnaround. On the rewards home page they don't even use weasly words about it "You will be sent tokens in the post, within 5 working days": no mention of 28 days until you dig in the Ts & Cs.

It really shouldn't be so much faff. But you could use that to sum up the whole Tesco rewards process. The repeated mailing, points conversion, mailing again, re-mailing process is from a different era. I'm with Stryder, Ts & Cs or no Ts & Cs it does not have to be so much hassle.

I think this is mainly down to the OP (any many others) not realising that any rewards vouchers you order can be used on ANY deal that isnt pay in full. Had op known this they could have ordered the deals as soon as they had enough rather than waiting for confirmation of holiday leave.
I do think this fact should be more widely advertised, as ive heard many say "ive ordered rewards tokens for xxx now we cant make it" not realising that they can be used across the board except for pay in full deals.Nobodys fault really, just hope op can somehow work their way around this good luck :o

Correct - the whole experience leads you to believe that the rewards vouchers are tailored for one particular reward and therefore only claimable against that reward.

I ended up paying for the holiday in the end - with some discounts applied that wouldn't have been claimable with the rewards vouchers. I will use them another time.

'Your reward should arrive within 5 working days. Orders should be made at least 28 days before you intend to book with a supplier or visit an attraction'

should is a very ambiguous word. it basically means you are taking a chance on whether they turn up in 5 days or not. The T&C do not state they can arrive any time between 5 and 28 days. the 28 days is the guide line they give, on how far in advance, they suggest you order them

i have had occasions where i have had voucher turn up within 2 days, but then another time it took over 2 months for the them to arrive (the replacement ones actually turned up a week, before the original vouchers were finally received)

i would have just ordered the vouchers as soon as i knew i planned to put them towards a holiday. you dont have anything to loose by changing them well in advance, as even if you dont go ahead and book the holiday, you can always return them to tesco for a credit, or use them towards other deals

I didn't know that. Does that mean, for example, if I ordered holiday vouchers I could use them to buy meals instead?
