appoligies if this has already been posted, just wondering what people thought was the best way to clean laminate and vinyl floors. for years i struggled with all sorts of different mops on the kitchen floor and now find a bowl of water with
tescos own floor cleaner and a jay cloth the best but struggling to find the best thing for my laminate floors as i'm sure water will damage it.
any advice from all you experts would be gratefiully received.
thanks in advance

Hi cdodd
Last time I did my laminate floors I used a weak solution of Stardrops and warm water. The result was terrible...all streaky. Maybe the solution wasn't weak enough, or perhaps I should have dried it afterwards. Anyway, that's as useful as a chocolate teapot...here is a link to all sorts of info on cleaning things. Scroll down a bit and you'll come to laminate floors. I will be reading this too as my floors are rather minging at the moment.

Hope you find something that works!0 -
Hi
I tend to mop mine but try not to get it too wet as it can damage the laminate. However I recently emailed the makers of Stardrops & they replied saying that it is safe to use diluted on laminate floors so there's another use for it !! You might already know this tho !
Ok Snowyowl you must having been posting yours at the same time as me ! I hadn't found that thread yet but now I will look for it ! Thanks0 -
I don't think its very OS but I have found that the Whizz laminate floor cleaner which you get in home bargains and poundland and B&M is wonderful!! It's cheap and lasts for ages and I have found it to leave the laminate looking really good. I have tried all kinds of stuff but to no avail. I use a JML magic mop which I got in woolies and which leaves the floor practically dry.Jane

Ecover's multi-surface cleaner in hot water to clean all downstairs floors. I dilute it in a spray bottle to clean all the bench surfaces, windows, and living room surfaces, including tv and computer screens - no streaking at all. Also clean the bathroom with it. I buy no other cleaner, except for the toilet. Saves me a fortune, honestly!0

thank you all for your replies, especially snowy owl that looks like a really good list which i have bookmarked for future use x0

for laminate ,i use stardrops in water with a floor cloth or for bigger areas a microfibre mop0

I find the Astonish no rinse floor cleaner (can also be picked up in pound shops and suchlike) with a microfibre mop (ditto) does a great job on laminate. The microfibre can be really squeezed out, so no danger of damaging the floor with water.0

Hi all as a floor layer who installs lamanated floor i must tell you all to use your head and read the gurentee that came with your floor as some of the products will invalidate it.
As for cleaning i would use a clean damp mop with clean water will be good for lifting dust for sticky marks a little dish washing up stuff or for the greener of us soapnut water when dryed it may leave a powdery finish if this happens rinse with clean damp mop with vinigar in the water
not to mutch water damp not wet mops
or visit your local floor sander's shop and ask for ezee cleaner by Grandwax0 -
