I think these have gone now, can't see them
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice
  • Still there:

In groceries, type white wine in search box, then select white wine australian, scroll down to Tesco Australiansemillion Chardonnay 75cl. Still showing at £1.74 a bottle.
    :hello:
  • If anyone fancies a Red Shiraz, this seems cheap:

    Fine Wine of South Africa.

The warm red colour of the Shiraz complements its full-bodied flavour. The subtle smoky and pepper nose gives way to a sublime finish with soft hints of coffee and chocolate in the aftertaste. Capturing Arniston Bay's care-free spirit, the charming fishing village of Arniston, near Africa's most southerly point, provides the inspiration for this truly versatile wine.

    Only £2.49 75cl ;)

    Much more expensive here:

These are from the Groceries section. Is that where you are looking? If you are in the Groceries section and still can't see them then maybe the system is clever enough to know what is in stock at your local Tesco (as you will have had to choose your delivery address before you can start shopping).

Edit : Oh - already been covered.... Didn't press submit when I wrote it!

Just popped into my local Tescos. They had nothing reduced to £1.74. I even asked the chap who was working on the wine section, and he knew nothing about it.
Took a likely looking candidate to a self scanner ( label said Reduced to Clear £3.99 now £2.99) and Bingo, scanned at £1.74 !:T
I cleared the shelf and took a few minutes to peruse the aisle to make it up to the nice round dozen bottles - spotted 2 more wines which scanned lower than the large yellow SEL. They are:

French Connection Classic, Cotes du Rhone 2004 and

Turner Road Cabernet Zinfandel California 2004
both now £2.49 and were about £4.99 originally I think.

Both these also had the "REDUCED TO CLEAR" on the yellow SEL. Everything else scanned at the same price as the SEL, reduced or otherwise.
Hope this helps someone else. My local is not a large Store, so I was VERY pleased to find these at all, but if you have a store with a larger wine dept you might find even more "Mispriced" wine. Just check out all the ones with the REDUCED TO CLEAR sel.

By the by, also got some of the tiny Blue Nun bottles,(250ml) reduced to 69p. Been YEARS since I had any blue nun, but at that price I couldn't resist.:D

Only hope these are actually drinkable, otherwise I may have to start decorating and use it as paint stripper !;)
