Removing size printing from boots

Hi,
Sorry not a good title.
I have some immitation leather boots and I want to remove the gold printing from the inside that says the size. Anyone got any ideas whats the best product for this. A friend suggested nail varnish remover, but I don't have any. I would rather remove it than try to cover it with marker pen, if anyone has any suggestions.
The reason is that they are thigh high boots, that I fold over the top to make knee high boots, but the sizes show on the inside, when I do this!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
Sandra

Mine seem to wear off just by wearing them...? what about just trying to rub at it with your finger and some water?Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790

Thanks for replies.
I haven't got any hairspray, but will just try rubbing it with a damp cloth and see what happens.
Thanks
