Travelling into London

Hi, I've just moved into Woking on the outskirts of London and am just wondering if anyone knows of cheap ways of travelling to London either by train, bus, etc. It costs me about £8 to get a return to Waterloo which is great if going for a whole day but when only going in for an hour or so is very expensive. Any ideas?

If you're going in every day then a season ticket is the way to go. If you're not going in every day but know in advance when you're going then buying tickets in advance sometimes saves money (but I don't know if that applies to all routes). An Oyster card for travelling within the capital WILL save you money.

I'd have a look on the Travel board and see what other suggestions are there.

Oh, a thought - is there a coach service? Always cheaper, but Guildford might be the nearest place for that, not sure.
